ARK Educate

Philosophy

Both rigorous and relevant, our curriculum engages and empowers students to see themselves as advocates for their own learning. It is not unusual to hear a young child ask, “What’s next?” as the joy of exploration and discovery are a way of life with ARK Educate.

Students soon come to discover that innovation solves problems and they naturally find themselves more alert to solutions and more articulate with original thoughts and the courage to express them. Early on, they realize that innovation is nothing more than a new idea, a way of making something new or better. These are the early practices of Innovation Mindset.

Elementary Program

All elementary modules are based on Innovation Mindset and all modules support active inquiry and exploration of topics. Critical thinking and Problem-First Thinking develop and strengthen through the application of mediated learning and student collaboration.

In all cases, module topics are meaningful to real-world examples and real-life experiences. The work of Innovation Mindset becomes personal and meaningful by nature of its relevance and its challenge to engage.

Elementary Modules

Elementary Curriculum modules are presented in stand-alone formats, designed to be implemented over a designated course of time, most often one school year. Based on ARK Educate’s model for vertical learning, each module builds on learning and content from previous modules. For this reason, we encourage consistency of practice (e.g. more than once a week) to help build continuity of thinking and honor student interest.

While our modules are not age or grade specific, they are designed to be adapted to academic development and readiness. We consider introductory modules to be those indicated in green while modules indicated in gray present more sophisticated challenges.

What our teachers are saying

"[The Ark Educate curriculum] enrolls students in activities where they can learn by solving problems, playing, discovering...etc. Following steps, innovating, taking advantage of recyclable materials, and the use of technology."
