ARK Educate

Philosophy

Our early childhood curriculum is unique, challenging, fun and evolves naturally through the elementary years. Students are empowered to see themselves as astute observers and articulate storytellers as they consider solutions and new ideas.

Problem-First Thinking begins when our youngest students begin to imagine how original thoughts might help make something more interesting or better than it was before. This is the early practice of Innovation Mindset.

Elementary Program

Elementary modules are designed to support deep exploration of each topic, from Innovation Solves Problems to 3D Printing and Entrepreneurship. Each module is broken into eight sessions that intentionally build students’ knowledge and skills as they progress.

Through mediated discussion, hands-on experiences, and independent research, students explore disruptive technologies, examine their impact today and in the future, and consider the ethical challenges their implementation may pose. Most importantly, students begin to think like innovators!

Elementary Modules

Each Elementary Curriculum module is broken into eight sessions, and is designed to be implemented over the course of one school year. This allows for enough time to dive deeply into the lessons and extensions provided for each of the eight sessions, typically with a commitment of a couple of hours a week.

Elementary modules are not grade specific, but some are intentionally designed to be age appropriate for younger learners (green) while others more challenging and better suited to older students (gray). We suggest a discussion with an Ark Educate Teacher Leader to help you identify which modules are the best fit for your goals.

What our teachers are saying

"[The Ark Educate curriculum] enrolls students in activities where they can learn by solving problems, playing, discovering...etc. Following steps, innovating, taking advantage of recyclable materials, and the use of technology."
